Default help, please!!!!

I'v got the rear of my r stripped. Tonight on my way to my buds house, I gave it a jerk with the brakes and heard a loud thunk from the back/underside of my car(gas tank?!?!?) Is there anything in the tank that can fall off? I dont see anything hanging from the underside. My gas gauge works fine and fuel delivery seems ok. Has this happened to anyone else?

This is only a guess, but maybe it was just gas sloshing around in the tank?? You probably couldn't hear it before with the interior drowning out the sound.

Dr. Shitface,

that happens a lot. I dont know what it is but it does give me a fright every time it happens. With the R's lack of insulation you are gonna hear that from time to time...after a while, when your car still works fine, you'll get used to it (I did). Our cars make a ton of funny noises...most cars do but you usually can't hear them.

Dr. Shitface,

I wonder if he has a Comptech "shitbox" Ross1013.

Boba- who thinks Ross1013 is as funny as hell sometimes.

Thanks Boba...maybe once I get past the 1000-post mark I too will have other members start love-threads about me.

BTW I think the term "Comptech 'Shitbox'" has been kicked around enough so that we can remove the quotation marks.

Only a Canuck would come up with the tag, "Dr_pooface".

No, its not just gas sloshing. I have had my interior striped for a month now. This sound is new and very annoying. Sounds like a big piece of steel is floating around in my tank, or some gremlin is hiting my car with a hammer every time I stop. I'll just take it to my dealer I guess. Thanks for your help.

dr_pooface, who will never be ashamed of the **** on his face.

Dr. Shitface, I'm telling you...its normal, nothing to be alarmed. it's not a sloshing or a slapping, it's like a big clunk right? it happens every once in a while, it's completely normal. If the car felt different, then sure...but don't waste your time going to the dealer unless this is happening ALL the time.
