Help Needed!! Rough running
Hi all,
I have a 98 ukdm Type R, Ive noticed that the car has a hesitation throughout the rev range and any gear. You can accelerate through and pulls fine in Vtec but doesn't flow as it should.
It happens at normal speeds and is not specific to any speed/gear or revs.
The feeling is of the car pulling back and then returning to whatever speed or revs it was at. You can keep a consistent throttle position and it will lose speed and the revs will fall,
I have changed the TPS and their new one is set to the correct amps,0.45. Also changed out the plugs and distributor. Doesn't seem to have a vacuum leak, no engine light, disconnecting the MAF does bring on the engine light and runs very rough until plugged back in so seems to be working. Throttle body seems clean. New thermostat, fuel filter and Rad going on next week.
Oxygen sensor was replaced before I collected the car but could be faulty. Valve clearances have recently been done.
Just wondered if anybody had encountered a similar problem and any advice on next steps and what to be looking at.
Cheers, Adam.

Once you replace the fuel filter, check the injector screens/filters. I had a similar issue with my 97 type r and it was the injector screen getting cloaked with debris from a old fuel tank.
