Help install Autometer tachometer

installing Tachometer
i need help intstalling my Autometer Tachometer....where do i connect the green wire to? i know its under the hood on the drivers side but i dont know which wire to tap it to

somthing ive been wondering for a while... when u change to new tach what happens to ur stock one in ur dashboard? is it still functional? or dead useless?
