Default Help!

I'm installing a new head unit and I need to know what factory wires are what so I can hook it up. If anyone has a wireing diagram or could just tell me which are power, ground, antenna, memory, dim, etc you would be my dad. Thanks!

Just get a generic Acura wiring harness - it will plug into the stock harness that comes off the back of the deck.

Generally
ground=black (duh)
blue = 12V turn on
red = power (can be white too)
orange = antenna lead
and the antenna is a big round RCA-looking plug that is separate

Sorry, should have been more specific as to my experience. I know the traditional colors wires are suposed to be. On the stock harness there is a red/black stripe, red/yellow stripe, and a red/green stripe. Which is power??? Same problem for antenna, memory, etc...

DON'T splice your wires!!! Just go out and buy a $15 harness for the Acura Integra from any car stereo shop. It is 10 times easier and cleaner install. Especially useful if you want to put your stock CD player back in the car.

Wireing harnesses are for wussies. I want a shock! (no I don't disconnect the battery.)

Use a voltmeter then if you want to make the job so complicated. As I said get a wiring harness.

get the wiring harness...... You could pick one up at your local radio shack for about 6 to 8 bucks. And when your ready to change head units all you have to do is unplug it. Helps you and helps the next guy when it comes time to buy another one.
I don't know how many times I've looked at some guys hack job and just heard,"I thought it was easy". And then they call me to come and clean up their mess. Your just setting yourself up for more hurt'in.

fu-bot, "Do it the "true lazy man way", get the wire harness.
you'll be getting it for all the right reasons and over looking the use of it for all the wrong reasons".
