This will probaby get locked, but...

Best bang for the buck = JDM Honda 4-1

Best out there right now = SMSP/Hytech

One that I loved, but wouldn't spend the money on it again = Toda

Jason-
who says btw, it's "header" not "headers"

I would suggest the DC JDM 4-1 header. The ceramic version is on sale for $288 (US dollars) making it cheaper than the 98+ JDM 4-1 Header which I have seen as low as $375. I dont know about Iceland's emissions but you will need a new cat if you get these headers. A good header that uses the USDM stock 2.25 in collector seem to be Comptech.

Good luck on your search for a good header. I'm getting a DC JDM as soon as I have enough money.

DC's quality control isnt the greatest , but if you look at the great header test, you'll see that it made very good power for the price. Plus at $288, even if it would break, you could get 3 for the price of 1 mugen header.

The stock USDM manifold and any bolt on USDM header has a 2" OD collector not 2-1/4".

SMSP-Who would really like to know who started the misinformation about the 2-1/4" stock collector?

Mugen, yes. Honda, no.

DC JDM!
I JUST INSTALLED THE STAINLESS VERSION ON MY 98 CW, BEAUTIFUL. THE WELDS ARE EXCELLENT AND THE WHOLE HEADER IS POLISHED STAINLESS. I HAD THE CERAMIC BUT GOT RID OF IT. THE STAINLESS IS NICE!!

My problem with the DC JDM is that they dent pretty easily.. I've driven over **** with the JDM honda header scraping the whole time without any damage to it (AssDime was in the car for one such event in south florida).

And you are talking about a VERY slight difference in power on a "stock" car.

The JDM header has primaries of 1.69" OD while the DC JDM's are 1.75" and the ITR JDM header has the tubes spaced/staggered more than the DC, therefore the ITR JDM has more ground clearance assuming the same gap between the tubes and the oil pan.

Here's a shot of a H22 header I built last month where I used the ITR JDM collector. Now the tubes sizes of this header are larger but you can sort of get the idea of why this collector provides better ground clearance. Maybe someone could post a picture of the DC JDM header to compare the difference in how the tubes are stacked?

I would go with the USdm DC 4-1 for bang to buck.

The JDM headers has the hidden costs of modifying the cat flange to fit the bigger collector. Plus the costs of the JDM header bracket

No sense in gettin the 2.5"/60mm collector if you dont replace the cat with
a 2.5" unit. The exit on the stock cat is still >2"

Best bang for buck is the DC JDM 4-1, the comptech is good too, but then again, it doesn't have a 2 1/2" flange.

IMHO, the ability to cover up the JDM honda header is worth the extra costs, plus it can be modified for 3+HP very cheaply.

I would suggest the Top Speed 4-1 SS header from Revolution Motorsports. Henry quoted me a great price and I have one now installed on my B16B powered del sol. It may not have the Spoon or Mugen name, but it construction is top notch. I would never spend more than what I did for the others. In the end is a couple horse worth hundreds of extra dollars. I like quality, but it is sometimes just not required to spend large sums of money for good products.

SPoon or TypeONE. There will be no questions about quality , weight and hp gains.
