Default GTECH testing...

My friend bought a GTECH controller and we were testing it on an open road.
Here is what i got:
WHP averages (i did many runs) approx 150
0-60 best at 7.3s
1/4 miles best at 15.4 at 94.9 miles/hour
The numbers that i got all seems a bit low, especially the whp
Anyone know are these things accurate?
I had seen other type R with dyno approx 160whp, so is the gtech underrated, or i got a weak motor?
Also, how should i improve my 0-60 and 1/4 mile times as i had seen other people on this board doing high 6's 0-60 and high 14's 1/4?
btw, i feather the cluth at approx 4k rpm
thx in advance!!!

Mine's about 3-5 tenths fast in the 1/4 when I've used it at the strip. That could vary from unit to unit though. I've talked to a few people who have had fairly accuratte results from them.

You can't get the same traction on the street as you do at the strip, so times should be a little lower. Plus doing a 4k launch is fine for the strip, but about 1500 too high for the street IMHO.

Don't they do the timing differently at drag strips though?

Yeah they do, but 3-5 tenths is a lot. It gave my mph about 4mph too high too.

5 tenths is the difference between being side by side and being able to see all of the other other car in your rearview mirror. If you get beat by a half second, you're getting spanked pretty good.

Acturally I do believe gtech is accurate.
Since the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times seems alright to me (I know there are people out there doing 6.7s 0-60 and 14.7s 1/4 mile in their stock R, but they are experience, but i am just 3 months old to manual, so i guess half a second slower is reasonalbe, is it?)
But it is the horsepower thing that bother me the most
high 140hp seems way too low
A few possibilities that i can think are:
1) the weight is not right, i entered 2800lb including me...
2) maybe dyno is different than gtect? on dyno, there are no air resistance and the car is running on the rollers which means less friction?
Any opinion? Thx a lot in advance!

Take the GTECH to the track, that should see how accurate it really is...

i dont think you need to add weight to get 0-60 and 1/4 mile times ...cause they are integration of acceleration.....which has no "weight" involved...

yes you are right, for 1/4miles time i don't need to input weight
but for horsepower, it is necessary
and it is the horsepower reading varies too much and seems too low
i think the 1/4mile times are accurate, just my driving skill is not up to par
but the varies horsepower reading (lowest 130hp, highest 160) that makes me wonder
thx a lot to the comments!
anyone else?

I have a G-Tech right now and my fastest 0-60 time is 6.6. What I did is, I reved to about 5k and dropped the clutch. I got some wheel spin, but that is the only way I was getting fast times. You might try to rev not as high and drop the clutch. I used the G-Tech on my G/F's Saturn and did a 1/4 mile (on accident, trying to do 0-60) and it went 17.3 at 73mph. I was laghing my *** off for the rest of the day being she traded her 95' Talon TSI in for it.

how is it that my GSR with intake runs 14.0 on gtec. And my 0-60 is 6.7 sec.
I think it is way off.
