Re: Expo Pics - Round 1 (itr009)
This weekend Rocked. It was hot, mid to high 90's. The Trailer AC was a life saver. We ended up going #13 clockwise, which was just what I was hoping for.
They ranked me as an instructor, which I didn't find out till the second day meant I could go out whenever I wanted, all weekend. I got prolly 4 hours time on Sat, and 5.5 hours on Sunday. We ended up leaving early Sunday cause the heat was getting to us and I was totally wrung out.
I passed an new NSX, Comptech SC'd S2000's, too many type R's to even count, couple corvettes. I forget the others . . . . (Everyone was driving great!!)
My best time of the weekend was 2:07.5. I was running consistent 2:09-2:11's.
Can't wait to do it again.
I have the 2:07.5 lap on video if I can just get it uploaded . . .

Upon closer inspection, the firewall seemed to have primer on it, an indication that it is NOT a real 96' Spec R, but just a RHD conversion. But who know, maybe I was mistaken.

Jeff....those are fighten words in my neighborhood....haha...I drove the new NSX (red) and you DID NOT pass me! And there was only one Vette in the show, my 21 year old rookie son, who was under the strickest of orders to drive 7/10 ths....and he did. And no timers were allowed. By timing you jepordized as all for any potential insurance recovery if there was an accident by turning this into a competitive event which was not covered. Not trying to be mean...just for your information next time.

Re: Expo Pics - Round 1 (the Wizard)
Ross,
Then maybe next time we should have everyone check in their wrist watches and anything else that keeps time for that matter. Last time I checked, the only time the use of "timing devices" jeopardizes insurance is when the EVENT ORGANIZERS are using them to officially record times. Other than that, I don't think there was anything wrong with someone (that someone being Jeff or one of the spectators) standing on the sidelines recording an individual's laps with a stopwatch.
Personally, not being able to record personal times was my only complaint about the event. And the excuse of one person recording times effecting another person's insurance liability was a little uninformed and misleading.
****, I hope I don't start a flame war now
