Default engine cooling down

After the motor is warm, it cools down while driving. It usually only happens when driving on a highway, so im guessing thats the motor is cooling down cos the air is cool outside and cos im travelling faster than normal. Its just that this has never happened before. Do you think anything is wrong. I was thinking the thermostat isnt working properly so its letting coolant out too early. What do u guys think?

Are you noticing the difference on the stock gauge on the cluster, or on an aftermarket gauge?

I have noticed this on my friend's car too. The temp needle would drop 1-2 lines while cruising at around 60-70 in 5th.

My best guess would be your thermostat opening too early.

That does not sound very normal. Its not that easy to have the engine cooled down like that. Not even with cool air outside.

Check your thermostat. That would be a wonderful thing if our engines cooled down like that

I've been having the same problem for the past year. I'm going to replace my thermostat (which should have been done anyway). It doesn't get as cool when it's really hot out, but it still doesn't warm up completely to the point where it used to solidly sit. ...and it's not a great thing for the engine to be running cooler than it should be. There's an optimal temperature for it. Too high or too low is not good.

I would start with replacing the thermostat. It's considered more or less regular maintenance anyway. If that doesn't fix the problem I would look into the gauge reading wrong. It would probably be the sensor or something...
