My p73 has been throwing a "check engine" light on my GS-R and when I step on the gas it boggs the car down alot. Ive checked on it and with my stock OBD2 p72 it says the "crank positioning sensor" is out but when I put the p73 it gives me a code 9. If I put a OBD1 p72 the car works fine. Any1 got any ideas?

 

obd1 ecu does not use the crank position sensor

 

i know, but isnt the type r ecu supposed to do the same thing?

 

Yea, but if your using a p73, w/immobilizer removed, you'll throw more then one code, or at least the cel will be on.

 

i think ur right, but then it wouldnt have worked right from the get go and I used it with no issues for at least 3 to 4 months...
