when my rmp gets up to around 3 1/2 to 4 and so on i start to get this rattling sound like ders something loose or something. it sounds like there is something in the intake manifold but i dont really know for sure where its coming from. can someone please help me?

 

Maybe your catalytic converter or a heat shield...

i think this problem happened to most of the DC2
and i have read similar kind of thing in the forum a couple of times
mine R happened in her 3rd year of life around 60,000 miles

i have a rattle at 3000 too!

ive checked so many things... exhaust bolts.. cat... header mount on block.. tightened them all.. i even went as far as to put a small amopunt of tape between where my intake kind of rubs in the front bumper....

the rattle is so loud ! it sucks

the only thing i havent checked out is the heat shields above the cat... i dunno

could be the stock exhaust manifold.. or carsound cat...

what header, cat do you have?

i have a dc 4-1 header and a cat back sp greaddy exhaust. i have a stock cat i think

 

when im in the car it sounds like its coming from somewhere in the engine bay by the intake manifold. do u think my jackson racing s/c has anything to do with the noise?

 

Probably your cat. Sounds like upgrade time! 2.5" header, bolt-up cat from Dave at SMS and you're done
