I dont see what the benefit of such bar would be, specially on a street car. I say spend your money on something else.

Other wise known as a floor bar, basically the R has one stock. maybe it weights 400x heavier but does the same thing.

Well, I'm not looking to buy one.. just curious if it actually does something .. I figured as much as Bbasso says, there must be some kind of reinforcement on the frame already..

yeah there is thats why such a bar would be pointless.

actually, not really.
the "floor bar" youre talking about is a side impact brace, while the ebay pos listed would snap in a second.

BUT,,,
they both bolt to the same area and both link each sides or the car together, and the stock (maybe much heavier) I'm sure does not flex as much or at all. and will actually keep you safer in the event of a crash. I'm sure they have the same effect on the car as each other.
So I would never bother using one unless I want to be unsafe and shed a few pounds from the car.

I don't see which part of the body frame this bar is trying to reinforce. Maybe the floor pan? But anyway, quite a few people I know with that bar installed swear by it and said the benefit is very noticeable. I'm still skeptical about it tho.
