Default comptech question!

Sorry for another intake post. I have a J's racing intake now and hate it. such poor quality. My question is with the icebox does it sound stock? the j's and aem cai are a little to loud for me. I want something that is a little louder than the stock airbox. anybody have one and how do you like it? Most important how is the driveing feel and sound of it? Thanks alot for your help.-Dustin

if you are into the sound thing.. I guess the J's is loud..

Comptech is a step above stock.. but J's is very good.

Comptech is probably the right intake for you. Just a tad above stock and is great for daily driving. Plus is CARB EQ and if you want some fun... you can ride with the top off once in awhile for louddddness

yeah its a little louder than stock, sounds really good, doesnt have that bat out of hell aem sound, sounds like a modified stock box, like a stock intake without all the resonators, maybe a little louder than that but not much

should sound real nice with your mugen header and exhaust

what kind of cat/testpipe do you have?

I run a flex pipe from the header, then just a straight pipe from there to the resonator. its all welded. Thanks for the reply man. yeah I think I might go with this intake. Hope it has a good tone to it.-thanks

How exactly does the icebox work? It just uses the stock arm with a different filter?

You can use the stock ITR arm or you can purchase the Comptech Short Ram.

Like mentioned above the system is slightly louder then stcok. Most dynos do show gains over stock, but throttle response is very good. If you end up getting the Short Ram then you also get a velocity stack built ino the air filter.
