Default CEL Problem

I did some search on the forum but i still can't seems to find the answer
here is the problem when ever I start up the car the check engine light will blink 10 times and goes off, my car has around 120000km and it's a 2000 ITR. I am not too sure, does that mean that I have the Intake temp sensor problem (code 10?) could someone enlight me with an answer. Thanks.

Really could be a lot of things but if the CEL blinks it's something more serious and should get looked at ASAP. A misfire could cause it, bad sensor, etc.

The CEL should not blink when you are running unless you have the check plug shorted. To check the code correctly, pull the check plug from under the dash by the glovebox, push a paperclip into the 2 slots to make contact with the connector (or use the grounding plug if you have one) and then turn on the key to full accessory (dont start). count the flashes and repost the result.

I think that's only for OBD1 cars!!!

It means misfire if the CEL blinks while running. Pull the codes and see what you have associated with the misfires. Also try doing a general tune up and see if the CEL still blinks afterwards.

Here's a thought, it could just be a maintenance reminder (since it flashes and turns off when/after starting the car).

If you still have the owner's manual then see the appropriate section about this. If it's just maintenance then eventually it will blink when started, and then stay on. There's a "reset" button for this reminder under the dash, to the right of the steering column. I'm pretty sure you will need to hold the button while starting the car, for a few flashes, to reset it. Hope that helps.
