Cause For Alarm - ITR
I finally got around to finishing the DC Integra write-up that I've been sitting on for months. The cars are the same from an alarm install perspective, but it happened to be an ITR so I thought I'd announce it here.
For those of you who haven't heard of it, it's a comprehensive car security DIY site that I call Cause For Alarm.

Keep those ITR's safe. I'll be in the market someday soon.

Been actually looking at your site for the past couple of days for lil tips as I'm currently redoing my alarm. Great addition though!

But you have a gauge cluster, right? You can squeeze an alarm back there. It's basically the same as the version6.EG page. Desmon knows a place in the dash but he has yet to give me any details, and I'm not too keen on removing the whole dash.
How effective has it been? I ask each and every person that I install for to call me if they ever have their car stolen. My number has never changed. I've had a few calls for failed attempts, but never any successes. Someone made a half-assed attempt on my girl's car. They punched the door lock but they must have ran as soon as the alarm went off. She lived in a very bad part of town (City Heights, San Diego). When I stayed the night at her place, my alarm would go off at least once a night. Her dad's car got stolen and broken into repeatedly. I use motion sensors on my cars for early detection, to prevent broken windows, pry marks, punched door key cylinders etc. I've gone through 2 Hondas since I started doing this, and I still have a Civic and an Integra, and I've never had any problems. 2 of my cars have had evidence of theft when I bought them. Now I live in Salt Lake so there's even less of a chance of theft. Maybe I have been gifted by statistics to not have been hit yet. But I can tell that I sleep good at night.
Thanks for the comments.

Re: Cause For Alarm - ITR (djtsmith007)
Great info. Awesome thread.
I read somewhere that you hated a certain proximity/motion sensor but I couldn't find it again. I'd get the crutchfield one you recommend but I need it very soon so I have to get something at a local shop. Which are some of the ones you'd recommend to get or not to get aside from the au94t?

I use the same spots as suspended hatch. Or I add a lil twist to everybodys cars so they don't all come out the same. When i do gps, I pull the dash. And thats on every car. There is plenty of room back there. And you can't get to the brain in time to disable anything. And its to late for the theif because gps has allready alerted you in 30 secs with a phone call and you have the gps location of the car. You will get busted with gps. If installed correctly. I never had a car stolen before. So i doing something right. If have the people on this board would take the time to read the write ups. There would be no stolen cars.
