I realize it's not good to compare two runs from two diff dates,

ie my base run was done in 70deg temps and my AEM run was done in 60deg temps...but I seriously doubt 10degF in difference is gonna give the gains that I saw.

Unlimited shows the same type of gains with AEM.

GO AEM GO!
You mean to tell me that an AEM CAI is worth 12 whp?

This place kills me. I post these reults the first time and everyone is upset about the results. Now everyone agres. Am I just ahead of my time or did people come to their senses?
I think most people are caught up in the hype of intakes. The intake makes such a minor difference in power on ITR's that the money should be spent elsewhere to produce more power. Many many ITR racecars use drop-in filters as their only upgrade. Exhaust upgrades should be #1 on the upgrade list, especially with the chitty stock header.

And a curiosity question here...I have seen a 12whp gain on a gsr with AEM CAI...is the gsr airbox that much more restrictive? Or is the C1 just not as tuned as our R motors?

Thanks Asahi for posting up your data.

The B18C1 resonator draws air from the engine bay instead of the fenderwell where the inlet of the B18C5 resonator is located.

I have seen the same thing on a GSR (10 hp gain on my old GSR) and yes the airbox is that bad. Smaller airbox and poor airflow to keep it quiet.

i know that ITR's lose power with a DIY intake...

but seeing as how the GSR resonator is so much crappier, is it a different case with my car?

I personally would guess so but you definitely are not gaining the 9-10 hp an AEM or Iceman would make. Dyno tune it and get back to us

On a gsr that still pulls heat from the engine bay...the DIY is good for the gsr
