Who is that crazy man in the lower left corner? I didn't know the Uni-bomber was hired as the celebrity spokesman for the Type R in Japan...

Just a suggestion, but IM Yoshi234 and ask nicely. Yoshi helped me out greatly with some much needed translation.

I just replied to xjx, but here's a basic transy about the bar on the top left side.

It's called the "Miracle Crossbar" made by Next. It retails for ~$950 in Japan.

According to the jesus looking d00d (btw, that's Dylan. Photochopped in courtesy of Katman- jajajaja!!!), the car feels tighter/stiffer like it has a cage. The car used to creak over bumps and driveways, but no more w/ the bars.

yoshi - whose met Dylan before

That is funny as hell, I thought that looked just a little out of place...

All the inconveniences of a roll bar with none of the safety. Plus it's yours for only 2 times as much money!

They help keep the front from flexing under high torquing of the engine. The less the front moves the better it track into and out of corners.

Any idea how much the fender braces cost and how I could get some?

It also looks like I could just get some chromoly tubing and make the brace myself for cheap...

Uh... That's bolted against thin sheetmetal. The only thing those blue thingies are doing is emptying your pocket. I wouldn't even call that a brace, cuz that implies that it strengthens something.

I actually think it would work really well for an autox car if it was lighter than a cage.

That blue thingy looks to me is that it ties the front sub-frame and the main frame together. Connection between stiff elements is usually the weakest point. I guess this thing does something to help that. If that's really the purpose, I wouldn't say it is totally useless.

Well, I can say with full confidence that it's doing jack. That part of my race car is crushed in. It's thin sheetmetal. The damn thing is bolted to a soft crush zone on the fender. Oh joy!

As for those retarded monkey bar things, you couldn't pay a national level auto-xer to put that in their car.

That brace looks like is designed to take transitional load from the weight *along* the direction of the car, but you're talking about its effectiveness on impact load from collision *perpendicular* to the car.

Actually I've seen roll cages that extend all the way from the main cabin into the engine bay for the purpose of tieing the 2 frames together. That's why I guess that's the purpose of that blue thing.

Racing craft is importing the J's Racing front (fender) braces. I was quoted about $220 for the pair. I have a picture but I need someone to host it for me. Anyone interested?? IM me...
