hi guys, i am doing a lot of research on headers and i am reading a lot.

I am having trouble to decide between Toda header or comptech racing header for my 2001 integra Type R

I also like the SMSP but can't find any info on them and don't even know how much they go for.

Can you please tell me your opinion between the SMSP header, TODA, and comptech racing.

and last but not least, is TODA better than the mugen header?

I will appreciate any help/comment i can get.

If money is not an issue, then Hytech or SMSP is the way to go.

i doubt you'll get any different information on this topic other than what you learned from searching recent topics and archives of itr and all motor forums.

 

i don't know how much the SMSP header go for? Anyone knows?

The hytech header is really nice but too expensive for me.

For the 900 dollars range, i have the choice of a toda, comptech racing, or mugen header, but as all three are about the same price, i am having a hard time to choose one.

Which is best? Toda, Mugen, or Comptech racing header?

 

I think of those 3, Toda would be the choice.

If 900 bucks is your price range...then get the Hytech...that's about how much it is....same with smsp....

I believe I told you in the other thread that smsp is a member here....so look up his name.

To understand which header to buy, you have to understand what a header does and how it's design affects horsepower and your powerband.

You just seem to want to know "which is best." A common newB mistake.

Do some research on your own and read some things on the net and make an educated decision for yourself.

This board is full of people who just say "get this because it's JDM" or "I gained 20 WHP from that header..." Oh, did you take it to a dyno or get it tuned? "No man, I know from riding in it..." That's the butt dyno.

Read up and decide for yourself. You shouldn't have to be spoonfed basic information like breathing modifications....all of that is old old news....

 

i have the mugen 4-1 header on my R. it really is all about personal preference when it comes to the rally high dollar headers. it all depends on what company you like. i don't think you can go wrong with the toda, mugen, spoon, or hytech. just make sure the the flanges are thivk so the header will be less prone to cracking.

 

When I got my Toda header,I let the thing sit in my living room for a week just to ogle the artsy craftsmanship.It's really that pretty.

 

SMSP is weilds the largest gains for the least amount of money, but don't mistake it for being cheap.

 

for a custom header SMS and Hytech are the best options , the down side is the waiting period . Went it comes to comparing mugen , spoon and Toda
I would choose Toda , i have had the Toda and for a 4-2-1 header you also get some nice gains in the midrange areas , besides being able to compete on the top end . Since it was posted on the header test , Toda and SMS came on top place ..

 

I think SMSP cost around $1000 and has a 6 month waiting list.
Which is the better header depends on the RPM band you're looking at.

How is this good info....do you just take numbers off the internet as the truth without asking questions?

How did you get those numbers?

What kind of tests were done?

Were all tested on the same car?

Did you allow the car to cool to avoid heat sink as a factor?

Was the car tuned after each header was installed?

Who did the test?

What size cat was used?

What size/type of exhaust was used?

What was the weather like?

Was it constant all day?

You are just taking some numbers that are thrown out and saying "good info" without asking any questions. That's called being a slave to the hype.

Nah dude, you still don't get it...you're a slave to the hype as well...those headers in that test were not tuned to get the full potential out of them....so then what's the use?

Pointless test if you ask me....just something to get the newB's and hype slaves something to drool over.
