I like to know that too...
BTW....Tein SS is the replacement of the Tein HA.
So someone with HA can tell us what's your opinion/experience of using it.

Tein out of the box rates are poop.
I dont like understeer and I dont run JDM spring rates.

Tein SS is not replacement for Tein HA. Tein SS minds well be called "Super Sucky" Which are not made in Japan. The Tein SS are made in Vietnam and the spring rates are pathetic, stock suspension is better than Tein SS. On the other hand, Tein HA, RA, HE, etc are something you want to upgrade to, never SS. SS is Tein's way of offering coilovers to the ricers.
I have Cusco Zero2's and they are awesome, get those instead, but will cost you a pretty penny.

I don't like the shock valving on the Tein SS because they are waaaay too soft. Good street suspension if you like a comfy ride, but horrible when it comes to any kind of competition, even autox.
I'd rather have a set of ground controls (with modest springrates of course) on the stock shocks.

tein SS - good street suspension, good for "slamming" at sh0ws, not so good for hard driving IE track/autox
there are more better bang for the buck options out there, but if ur looking just for something with nice ride and can do adjustments then this would be ok for u
and i second the guy's comments about the zero2R, luv them on WRX

Tein SS is only good for people who want to be able to say they have Tein suspension to impress those who are impressed by JDM bling.

Damn...and this whole time I thought SS's were good. From what I understand SS's are the only ones available for non-type r integras 94-01, so am i sol on Teins? I would rather go with full coilovers than sleeve/shock combo...
Any suggestions?

I had H&R Sport springs with Tokico Illuminas on my ED. I was very happy with the performance.

i have neuspeed sports and koni yellows and i love this setup, perfect for daily driving and some serious performance. you can't go wrong with the yellows, and if you want stiffer spring rates than go with the h&r sports.

HA's are just as bad as the SS, you weren't really lucky.
Get some Konis and Ground Controls.

If you don't want Koni Yellows, do Bilsteins or Tokico Illumnias. Note though, there is a different ground control sleeve for each type of shock, so make your choice wisely. For a daily driver/occasional autoxer, the Illuminas and GCs will work ok, plus will probably be cheaper than the Tein SS.
And believe me, the shock valving on the Tein SS/HA blows. They can be revalved through Tein USA though, but that's more $$.

Tein's are great for show quality and lowering your ride for the street, but i would not go with any of their products for real racing....u see their products on JDM race cars, but those arn't the same shocks they sell to the public.
For the money, one could find much better suspenison parts...... However, if you find a set of Tiens for cheap (used) then they wouldn't be bad over stock (on some honda's) ITR suspension is better in my opinion.
