230-260hp mugen motor? does ne1 trust this?

 

I'll raise the BULLSH!T flag.

The most I've ever seen from a 1.8l VTEC or Hybrid VTEC N/A is 225-230. And that was using the BLITZ ITB's.

Is it possible, sure, do I think he has it? No.

I'd like to see the dyno sheet on it.

 

A scam I would say.
Look at that crappy sticker on the valve cover, would any true JDM ethuasiest do such rice to their engine. And not to remind that a red valve cover only cost around $150. Although the gauge cluster looks pretty JDM, but that's still no reason to buy a B18c5 from POS looking car, I mean...wood trimmed steering wheels? ewww! We can built our own engine with $5000. Unless the owner state the history of his car, what he did and blah blah blah.

 

Scam......11.1:1 CR with that power? WTF? Also u guys notice the steering wheel they put on top of the engine is different with the one inside the interior...

 

Also,there is a Jap immigrant that lives here and imports engines for a friends shop.He says as a rule of thumb if someone tells you the mileage they are usually full of ****."Mugen internals"wtf is that?I didn't realize that they anything more than valve springs etc...do they make pistons,cams etc..?230-260 hp?That is a really broad guesstimate on hp.I sure wouldn't have bought my car if the specs were 165-195 hp from the dealer.

 

it says it has mugen internals.... what internals does mugen make for our engines?? i know that spoon does, but wasn't aware that mugen did. sounds like BULLCHIT to me.

As for the steering wheel...Hrmmm...I know momo starts their steering wheel off with wood then leather wrap them. Could be wrong.

So the motor could be producing 65 HP more than a stock B18C5 but it's only creating 4 more foot pounds ot torque? I don't think so.

Not just fishy, but impossible. If the car made 134 pounds of torque at 8100 rpm it would still only be making 206 horse. If it was making that torque at the redline it would be making 227 horse. These guys sound like real professionals...

 

Not making a call on this ebay engine being BS or not, but Lip posted a dyno of his car not too long ago. I believe he was at approx 240whp N/A at that time. A well built B20 VTEC should be able to hit that kind of number as well if done right. I agree though that the whole thing sounds a little "off"

Lip's 1.8l made more than 230 whp. I thinkit was 245-250 ish.
