Alignment ?
little help guys. my car is finally on the alignment rack.... after this winter's abuse. (hit left side on curb, replaced LCA, steering knuckle, hub, bearing, etc...) anyway, left front is ok, but my right front is pretty off in caster.
what could be bent in suspension components to give me bad caster, yet toe is within spec? or is it possible that i hit the left side so hard on the curb, that it pissed off the subframe or something else. guess she might be taking a trip to the frame rack....

Yeah, you're right D!
Are you sure they're using the R alignment specs from the supplement.
Even an Acura dealer (during my 30K check-up, no less), aligned the car to GSR specs.
Sorry I can't be of more help. ed

Caster, unfortunately, is not adjustable. I have the same problem, my left caster is ever-so-slightly outside of spec (i.e too +ive). I didn't hit any
curbs that I can remember and I didn't have any other accidents.
I started a caster thread on the tech forum that had a good deal of discussion. To summarize, no one really knew how the caster went off, but the consensus is you need to get the car on a frame rack and see where the misalignment is. If the caster is too +ive, you'll get poor directional stability and a 'light' steering. Too much -ive camber may be a nice thing, but in keeping with my awful luck, it decides to go off in the wrong direction

zyg: hey man. sup. yeah, i left the correct alighment specs with the dealer... they never seem to have a helms manual around, so i left it on my passenger seat opened to the correct page.
R748: thanks for the info. yeah, caster is not adjustable, i was just trying to think what could be bent that would give me - caster, but still have the wheel position so that it could be adjusted within spec for toe. that's all. i'll go search tech. thanks.

it seems people are taking the Homer Simpson approach, ... everything's half A$$
D -- they probably just closed the book (unless you specifically told them why it was there, and that you'd check the print-out afterwards)
the reason being that they just go by whatever's listed in their machine (and the R is not in the Hunter, did you say it was a friend?)
furthermore, the specs given for the R in the supplement aren't given in the same manner as those for the GSR (though ultimately they are not that different).
Time for me to "Homer" some work!

zyg: yeah, i'm sure they used ITR specs, i actually had this conversation with my dealer before..... i was actually waiting for it one evening... and finally said "what the hell is taking so long for an alighment"... they were hunting around for the ITR specs... all along, i had the helms in my trunk. so, now they know that i've got my **** together.
anyway, LF is at 0 caster. RF is at -0.5 so, i guess i'll just drive it and see how it feels. They did take it to the frame rack and measure the suspension mounting points, and everything is kosher there. guess i might buy a new LF LCA, and maybe i'll get around to getting adjustable A-arms. heh, should fix everythingzor.

I'll probably be going through something similar in a couple days (Bilsteins w/GC coilover kit 315F/500R) are being put on (along w/everything else).
When the dealer did my car last time he told me the FR caster was a little more than spec (couple tenths), then I looked at the print out and I see 97 GSR (oh well).
Good luck with everything, ed.
