Is it possible to somehow install or add air conditioning in 1997-199 ITRs that didn't come with A/C?

Yes you can. I believe C-mugen R (sp?) is currently putting AC in his 97 itr.

yeah...got the 2000 R a/c from Bob #455 and finally got in put in last week. However, do be aware of the difference between 97 R and 98 - 01 R. IF you're like me, who put in a later model R's A/C system to my car, you're gonna have to get some additional parts from Acura...i believe the dials, harness, and relays are different.

So if you're trying to put 98 - 01 R's a/c to a 97 R...call acura for additional parts.

My 98 came with the air installed at the dealership. I hate it. Wish I didn't have it so my car could be a little lighter.

Well my A/C doesn't really work, its outta freon... and im too lazy to recharge it, besides its wintertime. I didn't really use it at all all summer.

It is impossible to install air conditioning on a U.S.-market 1999 ITR.

Yes, in the U.S. market, it's a regular option for '97-98, and standard equipment for '00-01. Of course, there were no '99 ITRs in the U.S. market.
