Default 95,000 miles...too much?????

I am looking at a Black ITR. Opposed from the fact that it has 95,000 miles it looks really good. Stock. No accidents.
Im planning on rebuilding the internals next summer.
Is 95k too much?????

200k isnt bad as long as the car is/was taken care of. But 95k really isnt that bad.

My car currently has 95K on her. Still runs like a champ despite a little oil consumption.

138000 miles here on a 2001. Burns a bit of oil, can be pain in my ***. Still wouldnt sell her for the world.

After around 70k is when the oil consumption can become an issue. Make sure you inquire with the guy to see how much it burns (even though he will likely lie, maybe youll get lucky).

My 97 has 139xxx miles and is still going strong..... No oil consumption on original engine

To me the body is in worse shape than the engine.....no accidents, just door dings and a few pressure dings....but nothing PDR cant get out......

I say go for it if the price is right

That's the key right there, are you getting a decent deal on it since it's getting close to 100k? If you are and your already planning on a rebuild next summer then go for it. Keep it safe!

If you can get a deal on it, then go for it. If the engine is in need of rings and various seals, that's only a grand or so anyway. You'll pay 6 0 7 thousand more for a Type R with half those miles. Check oput ebay right now, perfect example.

Purchased my FBP with 94.5k on the clock. Haven't looked back since.

Agree'd with others, see if the seller can get you a compression and leak down test along with oil consumption rates.

I say if it's a deal, go for it.

95 k isnt much as long as they took care of it. I personally wouldnt care if it ran a little rough if its a good deal, my main concern would be with the body. check your vins on body parts, check all your body lines make sure everything is lined up, check bodywork, etc.

an engine can be fixed a lot easier and cheaper then a hacked up body, in my case since I can fix it myself but would never attempt my own bodywork.

a black car has to be mint IMO since every flaw is very noticeable with the paint, thats why I settled for py, couldnt find a black one without bondo and orange peel.

even though it says no accidents Im sure it has had something painted so make sure you double check.

My GSR saw 165K miles without looking back. I have known many ITR owners to go 150K+ miles with no issues. Make sure you have a leak down and compression test performed, everything else is pretty minor if that checks out.

stop! it will explode at 100k

kidding, it's a friggen honda, don't let the sticker let you confuse it with a ferrari. I had 140k on mine when I got rid of it and I have no reason to believe it couldn't of pressed on past 200k with minimal servicing.
