1997 CW Itr #172 Is Now Gone From Illinois
My buddy's 1997, yes a 97 oldest one i believe in illinois was stolen off his driveway at between five to five thirty in the morning today. Just got a call from him a couple of mins ago and told me the bad news. It was taken out of his driveway as soon as the sun was coming up from Bartlet area. Anyone around the area or in chicago keep an eye out for it, a 97 with blk jdm itr wheels (yes my old wheels ) . He ordered his 97 when it first came out and was one of the first individuals to get it. Sigh...for those itr owners around the chicago land area i left messages on ur voicemails..(not everyone, just the ones i have #'s from) about Josh's rowdy itr.
Just keep an eye out for it, it has an invidia exhaust and an option sticker on the rear bumper, thanks. I'm sure he'll chime in here as soon as he can.
Here are a few pics of the car:
Hope we find you buddy asap

According to the description, it had the black JDM ITR wheels on it at the time.

Argh, wtf is with chicago lately. We really should organize a group of chicago people this summer and work a sting of sorts. There has to be a way to stop these people.

Thieves SUCK!
Good luck. I'll keep my eyes open, but I seriously doubt I'll see anything this far from Bartlett. More than likely local punks are waiting to see if lojack will kick in while they're in school, and will have it stripped Saturday.

Re: (opie)
yeah i spoke to josh this morning, he's been dreading the day that it would happen and was preparing himself for the worst when his dad woke him up early in the morning telling him is car wasn't on the driveway. Seriously, i thought the burbs would be a little bit safer than the city. I know the locals have seen his car numerous times as well as the daily meets. Its just sad how we are a dying breed.

Hey guys...well its officially gone...i'm sure the car was stolen no more than a half hour before i discovered it was gone, it was snowing outside so the tracks looked pretty fresh...odd thing is i didnt catch any visible foot/tire prints on the driveway or street from the actual thieves. It pretty much looked like the cars Ebrake let go and just rolled off the driveway and down the street. Its true, i've been preparing myself for this day, it was bound to happen. Its been in my life since July of 97, i've grown up with it. not only was it the only car i've ever wanted in my life, its brought my father and i close to each over the years...yada yada yada, sentimental value up the yin yang!!! GOD SHE WAS A STRONG ONE TOO, clocked almost 90 thousand miles...Kept it stock till last summer too!!! i dont know what to say, i wish i could look to something good out of this like getting a new car, but my ITR was a true pleasure to drive every day that i drove it. for god sake i havnt listend to the RADIO in over 3 years in it, thats how much i enjoyed that piece of work. instead of fulfilling my passion for driving and the experience of perfection, some one takes it away and will probably throw it in a civic and go street race it for a couple bux. THIEVES dont know what they have taken, sure it was a 97ITR, sure it was rare, sure it could have damn well been the FIRST purchased ITR in illinois... it meant everything, and i'm not ***** for saying that i shed tears looking at my driveway... i know i havnt said much on here on H-T, some of you know me...and the ones do, know that CAR and I were ONE... my father purchased it in July 97, i was in middle school at the age of 14... grew up riding passenger seat with my dad terrorizing the streets... showing it off to all my friends, and at the TIME the R wasnt know of ****, then senior year i got a job and finally got it off his hands. My Father took care of that car so much to that when I was able to take it off his hands it would be perfect, my dad even sacraficed walking 3 miles to the train station so he wouldnt put extra pointless miles on it during the summer. I took it at just a tad over 7thousand miles. a couple miles, a CRAP load of hard driving, replaced the brakes, clutch, flywheel, slapped some bolt ons!!! i can go on forever, I TRUELY LOVE MY TYPE R...i have a 92 240sx with way loads of $ into it...way more than my ITR would have ever seen...and why is it that it means nothing to me compared to my #172. look at my post Count...you can call me a NOOB, but if there was ever a TRUE Type R owner, i'm far from "NOOB ranking... gosh i must sound like an idiot, i just dont know how else to explain that my Type R wasnt just a car.......................................
thanks for everyones concern
