Re: @@@ AEM V2 @@@ on a HONDA INTEGRA TYPE R DC2 @@@
samco hose from kingmotorsports.com (i know they sell it there)
BPI stack setup at bpinitiatives.com
you will find your gains will be greater with this setup over any other and there are dyno proven graphs for this.
i also run this setup with a 3" filter

I can give a better deal on the Samco intake tubes than King Motorsports does, we're direct with BPi, and the K&N filter for said kit I can sell a lot less than most people do. I have a whole package for this kit put together if anyone's interested. Intake tube, stack, filter, clamps, vacuum lines, vacuum fittings and all.

Go fight kill- that’s a really cool setup, have you thought of maybe making an enclosure
for your filter to diminish heat soak?
I have the exact setup as you except I made my intake arm out of 3" aluminized steel.
I am very curious to see if the samco arm provides any gains over a steel or aluminum piece.

^ Not that a dyno will show. However, on track, the silicone will ultimate hold up better to heat soak than aluminum will. That's the reason I decided to change from a cut down AEM 3" CAI.

I just picked up a AEM 3 inch CAI from ebay.....i was planning on putting a BPi vstack on that. Have you ever tried using a vstack in the configuration of CAI prior to cutting it down to SRI? I hear in most cases, the longer the intake tube, the more power it should make hence some argue that AEM CAI with vstack should yield the best results.

Got the dyno graph? Wouldn't the response be due to moving from a CAI setup to a short ram type setup? I may pick one of them up from you guys once I get a shell for my old motor!

Not sure if this was directed at me or not but i got a great deal on the AEM.....and i was trying to run a CAI with BPi vstack, wasn't sure if samco actually made a CAI piping.

I call BS. A short ram intake will make more mid range for sure. Of course if you're running a open BPI stack on a dyno with hood open it should make more power. Run a open BPI stack on a AEM CAI V2 then you can do a good comparison. You can also debate about the warm air inside the engine bay vs air outside for the CAI.

Heat soak from the engine bay temps on a metal intake pipe vs a saamco arm....

Does the air even stay in the tube long enough to get hot?
Anyways, I'm wondering what happened to this website that had tests of different mods on an ITR. IIRC it was a student site hosted on a university website but his site has been long gone since he graduated.
