Default Would it Help

I have to do a smog test this month and I was wondering if I should use seafoam to clean all the carbon build up. I have read almost hundreds of threads talking about it and how it works and also the negative ones too. I have a 94 DB7 with 166,XXX, the threads I've read says 1/3 goes into the vacuum hose,1/3 into crank case, and 1/3 into full gas tank. The negative response are ones about not using seafoam on a high mileage car cause it might case internal damage with the carbon clogging up lines etc... If anyone ever done it with their car with high mileage it would be greatful. Thanks In Advance

Are you sure you'll fail your smog test? If so I would focus on fixing the culprit of your noxious emissions before worrying about seafoam.

I'm a smog ref. You ever hear of "Guaranteed to pass emissions or G2P"? There's many different types, the one i'm referring to is the one in the blue box available at most parts stores. Most hondas that fail, do so due to excessive CO emitting from the exhaust, usually caused by a faulty oxygen sensor which went bad from either removing the cat or adding crappy *** fuel additives/octane boosters that don't work. G2P in a half tank of premium gas will usually pass everytime, but note, if your car currently has low emissions, this crap will make you fail for NOx(cylinder temperatures) because it will make you run lean.

I read some seafoam threads and decided to give it a shot two weeks ago on a 69 Camaro with a 454, I put it in on the dyno...MAN! That **** smokes HELLA bad! Anyway, after the smoking stopped, it pulled the same numbers as it did before, so I changed the metering valves in the edelbrock carb and added G2P, then it passed.
