Default Windshield Replacement

Basically there is this one huge ugly crack in my windshield and I think I should get it replaced before I get a ticket.

I was wondering how much it is to replace and/or where should I go to get it replaced?

I will post pictures tonight of my cracked windshield.

Call around to local auto glass shops. Also check your insurance, as many policies will cover glass. How large is the crack?

I noticed your in Cali, but don't list a city. If you're close enough, call the Keys in Van Nuys Acura dealership. They recommended me to a small shop that does on site windshield replacement (did it in my work parking garrage), had Integra windshields in stock, charged less than the dealership (never had a dealership recommend a cheaper place before), and offered either plain glass (which I had stock) or the built in blue tint across the top (which I love BTW). Can't remember the name offhand though.

Van Nuys is actually sort of far from me... I live in garden grove of orange county. But I guess I'll try it out.

If I call insurance, don't I have to go through the trouble of proving blah blah blah?

Lol...the cracks are...pretty huge and long. I'll post up a pic as soon as I get my camera back from a friend.

Your deductable will prbably be more than the cost of fixing the window. I wouldnt bother with insurance. I got quoted $125 to get mine fixed

We just replaced the windshield on our '94 GS-R (Chicago area) about a year ago. I looked in the yellow pages (under "Glass - Automobile, Plate, Window, etc") and called a bunch of glass shops in the area as well as the dealership. Every place was happy to quote a price over the phone, including installation, and the quotes ranged from $140 to $200. The $140 quote was from a place two blocks from home that had been there for years, so the choice was easy. No problems with the windshield since then.

I just got my windsheild replaced today from express auto glass for $152.83. They came out to my work and replaced it within a half hour. Its soo much nicer driving without a crack right in front of your face.
