Default Windows are not wanting to work

I have a 00 GS-R and the power windows are not wanting to go up or down all the time. Most of the time the driver side will roll down, the passenger will also work most of the time without problem.

Here are the problems I am having: When the driver side works it will stop 2 or 3 times on the way down, but when it is working it will roll up no problem. The driver side switch will roll the pass. window no problem but will not roll it up. But the pass. switch works without problem.

Now in the last 2 days sometimes when I go to roll the windows down they wont work at all and I have to turn the car off and start it again before they will work. Then today when I got to work they wouldn't roll up at all. I checked the fuse and it looks fine. I turned the car off for a minute and then turned the key again and they rolled back up fine. What is the damn problem?

Cliffnotes: windows work when they want to.

i'm having the same problem with my window... but it's on the driver's side. all other switches work fine. aparently the harness on the door got loose so i have to open the door and play with it a little bit 'till the switch works again. you might wanna check that out.

i'm trying to find out if i need a new harness, if there's a clip to replace or something else i can use to keep it secure. i'd like to know a permanent fix for this as well.

I will try that out on tuesday. I am wondering though, if the switch does turn out to be bad can I use a switch from any DC or does it have to be 98+ or 00-01? I have been told only 00-01 will work in my car. Does anyone know about this either?

Well the dealership wants $250 for a new switch, all I have to say to that is..expletive THAT. The junk yards around my house (Checked for 80 miles around) Dont have any Integras, if they do they are old torn apart DA's. and I can find any on H-T.
Besides like I asked before will a switch from any DC work in mine (00)? Because I have been told that I can only use a switch from a 00-01. Can anyone shred some truth on this?

that doesnt sound like a switch problem at all, it sounds like an electric motor problem in the door, and actually sounds a lot like a bad capicitoron the motor although i dont know if they even have capicitors on those motors or not

Sounds to me like your window mechanism in the door needs to be lubricated. Take off the door panel and lube the steel tracks, and try the window with the panel off.

I did that, it worked pretty good for my window, but it still wont let me roll the pass. window up. And it still doesn't explain the fact that sometimes they wont roll up or down at all.

Your switches may have some corrosion or dirt in them- I have had this with my sunroof switch. It would open but not close- I removed the switch, disassembled it, and cleaned the contacts which were dirty and not working. It worked fine after that. YOu need to try that or just bypass the switch and jump the motor and see if it works- take each thing out of the question one variable at a time- like the switch, motor, etc.

I didn't even think about that, I will try that today. Thanks, I'll post up later if it worked or not.

k well... i dunno if you guys were able to solve your problem, but i have found the solution for mine.

inside the harness that goes from the fender to the door, the wire for the driver side window had come lose. i don't know how to keep it fastened into the plastic plug, but i got a screwdriver and shoved the wire into it as far as i could. after plugging the harness back in, i opened and closed the door a few times to see if it would come lose, and it hasn't so far. the window now works fine.

this may be different from your scenario, but it is something you might want to check out as well. good luck if you haven't fixed it so far.

Most of the time, the motor is just bad. Just replace like I did. I use to have windows roll up half way, then I needed to push it up to close, then one day it just didn't want to work. Just replace.
