Default when to shift...

when to shift...
when do you guys shift while ur racing

is 6300 rpms a good place to shift for each gear
or it different for each gear

where is redline for a 93 rs

good question...you need to get a Dyno run, or look at a plot from a similar car with the similar setup. I do in my R so, thats where I shift (and to keep it in VTEC)

It really depends on what mods and what engine you are running. Like me for example, I shift at 8900rpm at the track, and if I had a higher redline, I would shift even higher. The motor still pulls hard up there. But in Jeff's (Hybridsedan on G2IC) Integra wiht B17 and CTR cams, his power drastically drops off after 8500rpm, so he has to shift about there. If he shifts at 9000rpm (where his redline is), he will actually have a slower time in the quarter. This is proven. The best way is to get on a dyno and see where your power drops off. Shift right before that point. Best of luck.

A friend of mine with a GS just had his car dynoed and his power starts to drop after 5500 rpms. It peaks between 5000-5500rpm, so it would be best to shift before redline at a little over 6000 IMO.
