wheels and susp
i just changed wheels with someone and i also RAISED my coil overs a more in the rear and raise it more in the front to accomodate the larger rim size i went up
now the main problem is my wheels are facing in at weird angles, its not flat agaisnt the hub or thats what it looks like...
for example... the rears are pointed in wards and at weird angles... i cant really explain it. and its not cambering just to let you know
help please
thanks

Pictures would really help to see what the problem could be, or maybe a slightly better description
From the sounds of it, neg. or pos. camber must be ocurring as well as whatever else could be going on with it. Is the top of the tire cambering inward or bottom? I'm sure others will chime in with more accurate info

i can't tell where its cambering because wear hasnt shown yet.
it would be hard to see on camera so i'll try to describe the best i can
for example: rear left wheel
X = you
if the wheel is here
->..|_____________|
..
..X. <---- stand there
the wheel faces IN like
1) put both arms straight in front of you
2) keep the left arm straight and bend it slightly towards the right
3) the wheel is facing in like that / <--- like an arrow or something, its like flat against the rotor
when i put the wheels back on, i put them on and the screwed in the lug nuts tight as possible while pressing the wheel in.
i then lowered it and continued to use a torque wrench. i did put the wheels on in star pattern (or whats equivlent for a 4 lug... which is more like a Z hour glass pattern
did i put my wheels on wrong or is it something else?

Well, toe will change for one thing, whenever ride height is changed. You definitely need an alignment unless you want to eat tires every few months.
If you lift the tire off the ground and spin it by hand, does it rotate normally, and not wobble around?

make sure the hub on new wheels are big enough for your vehicle then tighten lugs 1 at a time hand tight then repeat then lower and torque to spec after that get the alignment checked, raising the vehicle would have given you more postive camber which is the outward tilt of the top of the tire, it should have been worse when you had it lower, do you have camber adjustment kits for it?????

the wheels actually sat better when i was dumped, i'm going to relower the car now since iwent from 15 to 16s.
i'm running ingalls camber kit front
and washer bolts in the rear
would have NO hubcentric rings cause any problem?

^ lol that helped a lot, my **** is hella toed in at the rear... not to mention i running washer bolts which gives it a stationary camber adjustment. therefore i must relower my car and get it aligned!
thanks all

They must be using an old machine. The shop I go to can align any car, lifted or lowered. He did mention though that the option for his Hunter machine was like $10 grand to align lowered and lifted vehicles.

what is this "option" to allow the machine to align lowered or lifted vehicles? If it can get on the rack, you should be able to align it. Now we did have to remove my front bumper when my buddy used to align my car at the Chevy dealer on a Hunter rack, but that was it.
Oh I know it can be done, they just refuse to. Guy made me wait an hour til they could get to my car. They then noticed it was lowered, gave me my keys and said

idiots, I wouldn't want to give them my business anyway. I know a guy at my previous church that runs a shop in town with his father. They do alignments the "old-school" way, with a platform that sticks out over a pit. You just drive the car out onto the platforms. No ramps or anything. Perfect for lowered cars. They also have devices in the floor that can measure "rolling toe" as you drive over the plates, something that computerized machines really can't do, I don't think. Even though it doesn't use lasers, they still do excellent work. It's $60 for a 4-wheel alignment on my car, all day every day, no matter how low or high the car is.
