Wheel stud
I broke two wheel studs that the tire shop cross threaded on. Well, I went to Advanced Auto and got some new ones and went to slide them in, but they won't go in all the way. I did a search and guys were talking about taking it out and having them pressing in. Is there a way to do it at home??? I couldn't really get a hammer to it to get it to slide into the hole all the way. TIA.
wait didnt you just post about bleeding the brakes...
im taking it you did all this today and owned your self on two diferent installs"?
sorry this is not helpful
im just curious

if it's the rear studs
just get some washers or a thick washer and screw the lug nut onto the stud with the washer in between

(in order from left to right)
lugnut( () ) ,washer( | ), stud( ---- )
My attempt at a drawing....

Just for the record Hugh Bowie, if you read the post, the tire shop cross threaded them on, not to mentioned over torqued them. When I was in last week to get my tires rotated and balanced, one of the technicians snapped one of the studs. It's pretty weird that all of these studs are snapping off, especially considering that this shop is the only one that touches my wheels, this was the only time I've had to mess with it, and they we're over torqued!!!!
