I was downshifting to 3rd gear to 2nd gear as I was approaching a red light, all of a sudden right after I shifted into 2nd gear, my engine just shut off, check engine light came on.. what's going on?

I always do this as I approach a stop light, I would shift down from my current gear to 3rd, 2nd, then 1st, and into neutral before I come to a complete stop.

But this time my car shut off? Weird Help please?
It wouldn't start up afterwards.

 

Could the clutch plate broke? I'm guessing it's clutch related, since I'm getting gas, spark, but it won't turn over. Clutch arm seems like it's engaging also.

 

Nevermind, I have to agreed honda-tech isn't really much of a tech anymore. I posted 2 threads and haven't even got one reply. Other than that, I found out what it was. The ground on the distributor got hard and old and broke off of the plug, kind of weird but I solder it back and it starts now.

I got more helped when I owned a crx. Maybe this is why we need a DA only thread!!!

 

If the CEL came on, pull the codes as the first step. They will tell you what was wrong.
