What would you do?
Alright. I have a 1997 Integra RS (auto
). I am debating whether I should just do an entire engine swap to a B18C1, or just keep my engine and auto tranny, and just replace the head with a B16A head so I will aquire VTEC. If I just replace the head, a few months down the line I will be boosting it, but if I get the GSR swap, I'll just leave it stock.
What do you think I should do? Pros and Conns of both options appreciated. Thanks in advance!

do the swap bro, the vtec head is nice but it still won't be as fun, and if you have an auto vtec turbo, have fun hittng revlimiter whenever you stomp the gas....do the gsr swap and you'll be happy, or just convert it and force it............
I think that the GSR would be better, but you might want to consider switching to a manual tranny. I thought you were going with an IS300 instead of getting a new engine.

I am in the same situation as you also. I have a 96 RS auto. I think you should get the auto to man conversion first then decide on what you should do. However I plan on getting my crower valvetrain (62403 with crower valve springs and ti retainers) before I convert my car to manual using either the integra gsr tranny or the civic si tranny.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to sell the RS and buy a GSR rather than changing the tranny and doing an engine swap???
I think selling it and getting a type r is the most cheapest way to upgrade. If you swap the tranny of the RS, who would buy an Auto tranny? working tranny will just go to waste. If you were to do an engine swap, how much would you lose when you sell that engine? same goes for the suspension when you upgrade. It's much less of a hassle just buying a GSR or a type R.
