What else would you do?
So this morning at 4am my car alarm went off. Heard a speeding car left, went outside nothing much was stolen. Except for the long rearview mirror and a folder of my cars registeration and some other misc papers. Apprently they slim jim the door and unlocked it.
What would you have done after this happen? I called the police and they took a statement. Looks like nothing much is going to happen.
What would you add as a precaution?

Misc papers? car registration? You'd better monitor your credit history. Be on the look out for an identity theif.

Misc paper as in oil change stuff, other misc paper related to the car. No credit card info, money, etc etc.
Also I was told that people can get a key made if they have my car's info and vin? How can I notify dealer or someone to have them prevent them making a key?

Looks like your SOL. Just buy a good alarm system.

You need to layer your security. There is no one thing that will stop theives.
Alarm
Kill Switches
Garage (If not park another car behind you)
GPS tracking
Wheel Boot
Well light driveway (motion detected)
Security camera outside video tapping
Etc.
