What to do...
So i mention here that the other day smoked come out of my engine bay while i was driving, well done a compression test on it yesterday and the result were 195 195 195 115 (LS). Cylinder number 4 was the problem, the car drive completely fine so it couldnt be bent valves or anything? a lot of people is saying that it the pistong ring/ ringlang. Im thinking of buying New forged piston and rod and arp head stud and put those in. Is there anything else that is NEEDED to be done while the head if off. Im in a really tight situation now and money is very limited. Btw I still dont understand why cylinder car is messed up, i dynoed tuned the **** with Hondata almost right after boosting it...
yeah, im sticking with oem headgasket... What piston/rod combo should i get, i dont want to bore out anything. I want standard bore. and either in the 9 range or 10:1 will do.
9:1 compression would be the better idea since you are boosted. 10:1 on boost is a little high. Your stock sleeves would rattle out or worse. You may have tuned it well with Hondata, but when you run more pressure through a motor that was not designed to have that extra pressure there...your going to break ****.
I would recommend a good piston from JE, Arias, SRP (is that right???), or another reputable manufacturer. Rods...Crower or better. I would also advise getting your motor sleeved or at least put a block guard in. Do it right the first time, and you won't have to worry about pulling it apart later to fix a rattled loose sleeve or worse. Ask some of the turbo guys what kind of setups rod/piston wise they are using. I'm an all motor guy!
