what to do with $8000.00?
i had a 2000 integra ls coupe. sold that and got a vw gti 1.8t. i just sold the gti, and after paying off the loan i'm left with $8000.00 ca$h to buy a new ride. question is, what to get with $8000.00 definitely going to get another integra, but don't know whether to get another ls or go for the gs-r this time. keep in mind, i need something reliable and i'm paying cash ($8000 max; no financing). i definitely would like a gs-r, but the question is whether i can get a decent 1996-1998 gs-r in this range. for $8000 what are my best options?

Damn, beat me to it.
In that case, electric scooter running 300 shot...
Or a GSR :D

get an eclipse GSX or talon tsi AWD and put some mods on it with what you got left. Youll have a 12-13 sec turbo awd car that can handle 450 HP on STOCK internals

Re: (94BlackCivicEX)
get an automatic 4 door RS
then you can save money by using a coffee can for a muffler to give it your badass look to it!
dont forget the wing made of alluminum foil and to save weight opt for using duct tape as a harness in stead of screws...YOULL BE RICIN IN NO TIME MAN!
or you could get the sexiest car on the planet, GS-R

Re: (2muchGT)
like i said before; i'm definitely getting another integra, just a matter of whether to get a gs-r which for 8 grand will probably have higher miles and be older, or to get a newer ls with lower miles for the same price. for 8 grand what year / mileage of a gsr and ls should i be able to get. is there anything to watch out for when buying either of these cars?

I think it was a Nitro scooter, though.

You must have missed when he said reliable Ahem... crank walk, trannies, etc... I'd get an LS and use the leftover cash to start saving for a turbo setup, but thats just me, a GSR would be more fun while its NA and if you plan to stay NA.

barring from the bandwagon... the truth is, the GSR has a high redline and as you would expect, any 95-99 GSR on the road woudl have been beaten by now.
Personally, i'd go for a LS as you'd have a better chance that the car wasnt beaten or worn by some child driver. you did say you wanted something reliable.
my two cents

Re: (IntEGNYC)
any Integra except for the GSR or TYPE-R? Why? to tell you the truth, insurance rates for those two models may eat your funds down the road.
get another LS, find a decent B18C (jdmgsr) and swap it in. sure you'll have to cough up some money for smog tests and what not, but you'll have the power of a GSR in an LS chassy . Oh...insurance will be inexpensive.
if that doesn't convince you...95 GSR...0BD1 0wnz. OR->any OBDII and make sure you convert it to 0BD1.
0.02 for u mang---GOOD LUCK!

Nothing against DSM cars, but if you get a Talon or Eclipse for 8K, prepare to enjoy it from the lovely view of your driveway as you prep the internals and swap out the tranny so it doesn't **** the bed in the 1st 10K. I think DSM'ers are notorious for having pretty deep bank books, you could have a lot more reliable ride on a lot less fat paycheck. I'd go GSR, but that's just me lol!
