damn.
yeah pump the clutch pedal and hold in, then have someone loosen that little nut and close to repeat again. the person will probably have to pull the pedal up.

Just how bad is a leaking headgasket anyhow? I also noticed oil seaping from pan around it's gasket. It seems only started having problems after using synthetic oil.

on you. Headgaskets don't usually blow on the "right side." Take a look at your plugs and wires and if they are oily, then you can assume you have a blown head gasket. Oh jaw, changing motor oil doesn't blow head gaskets!

yes, the oil pan gasket is leaking. and no, the plugs and wires are clean as a babies nuts or ***.
Good luck.
Sweet, have the DC header installation completed. Didn't get a CEL, no rattles, and didn't smell any exhaust fumes either. Damn though, this header pulls nice, all the thru the powerband too
. It doesn't appear that I have to bleed the clutch fluid either because the clutch wasn't mushy at all on the test drive.

Man, that slave cylinder gave me so much hell when I installed my header. We ended up having to take it off (I believe the part in your way is actually just the bleeder valve for it). We unbolted it from the tranny and moved it a few inches and got my header past it.
if your oil pan gasket is really leaking then replace it.
a tip for installing headers (I've done a couple of them now)....loosen/remove the radiator fans.

Just curious, how did you manage to loosen your slave cylinder bleed bolt during a header install?!
