17.5 is too lean. Get it tuned correctly and you should be good to go. Let us know if the noise goes away after the tuning.

I second this. I wire arcing to the cyl. head would make a tick. Spark knock would too. Where do you have your base timing set at?

Fuel injectors tick, but you'd always here it.

Look in the fuel metering and secondary ignition (everything from the dist. to the plugs). The fact that it's only under accel. (putting the engine under load) makes me think your problem is in this area.

Now I saw this post. It's DEFINATELY in those areas. Your engine is way way WAY too lean. Lean a/f mixture = A LOT OF EXCESS HEAT = fix this problem ASAP!!! You're on your way to catastrophic failure.

Advancing the timing increases the likelihood of detonation. The knock sensor retards the timing when a/f ratios lean out too much to avoid detonation (knock is another word for detonation).

LOL, yeah mouab18c1 is WAAAAY lean. If you love your engine, tune it!
