Default A weird electrical problem?

97 Acura Integra LS Automatic

My car started properly however I could not get the car out of park. I could not hear the solenoid that you normally hear releasing the shifter either. I put the key in the slot near the shifter this allowed me to put the car in Neutral and start it again. I tried driving the car. I could drive it however it was very slow. I believe it was in limp mode. It seems like the transmission just wasn't transferring the power properly.

I noticed my dash was not working. The only thing that worked on it was battery indication light (charge light I believe). I think the back lighting worked as well. Tachometer and Speedometer both are not working. I don't think the Temp gauge or gas gauge are working either. Stereo, headlights and brake lights all work. Alternator and battery seem fine.

WTH happened to my car? I haven't change anything lately. The only thing I did was hit a pot hole on the way to the parts store however it worked fine on the way back.

I checked my fuses already. I will check them again in the sunlight when I get home. If there a relay or something specific that can cause all of this? If it is a bad ground where would this ground be so I can check it?

Thanks for your help.

check both of the fuse blocks and dont just look at the fuses, test them with a test light or meter.

Well I figured out what was wrong. I noticed my rear defroster wasn't working either. I found this strange since everything else worked besides the dash worked. So I turned the car on and pressed on the fuse box on the drivers side. The rpms rose and the solenoid for the parking brake clicked. I pressed in and giggled it a bit and now it seems to work. There is a loose connection some where. Maybe even the fuse box is bad since I can feel it being pressed back a bit then it works.

Just wanted to let everyone know the solution.
