Default Weird CD Player Problem

Hey guys quick question on my friends 97dc2. I was swapping out his oem cd player and put his new one in. then we realized he had a cd stuck in the oem unit so we took the new one out and plugged the old one in. we got no power. try the aftermarket one and we have to power also. its very odd. I did not try to aftermaket one as soon as i put it in. I assume its a fuse. but I checked the fuse named "radio/cig lighter" it looks good and the cig lighter works. the only think i see that dosent work is the clock, thats it. Im lost

If clock doesn't work you have blown a fuse. There are two fuse boxes, one near the battery and one on the driver side kick panel. Make sure you have you keys set to ACC or ON and test the wire. There are two wires that need power, not just one. I don't remember the colors though.
