Default Water Pump

how do i know if my water pump needs to be changed. Will My car start to over heat. i ahve a 96 gsr

overheat is one but you will see coolant leaking also from that area of the engine.

how many mils on your gsr? and also u never change it once? water pump?

check water level if its ok... then check to see if u are getting any anti-freeze leaking by the front t-belt area... if no anti freeze leek then u will overheat alot or u might have a leak. If that is not the case check radiator.

Besides leaking fluid, you may also notice a squeaking sound coming from the pump... if you hear this, you definitely need to change it immediately becasue it means the bearings are going... and when they go, they'll take your T-belt with them, and that's bad news (I know from personal experience).

Original water pump here at 179xxx miles. No leaks or squeeks. I'm about to change it and the timing belt tomorrow, though.
