Default Wanted: Boost! Help!

so i have been reading up a lot on forced induction for honda motors. and more/less in general. i have read about superchargers being good for automatics. so i looked into them. way too expensive for the hp/tq gains.
then i thought about a turbo. i know you will all say dont turbo an automatic. i am not looking to be the fastest car out there. i just want some more power. and turbo **** seems to be a little cheaper and more reliable. the only thing i know is that turbos tend to spool slower than my car shifts. (i think i said that wrong ... the car shifts before it would spool all the way. .... you know what i really mean!) but i drove 3 cars yesterday at work that were all factory turbo and automatic. VW, Audi, and a Saab. now i feel that they drove pretty well and responded better than if there was no turbo. so what turbo out there will be small enough to spool quick enough to even be worth while on my car? im very serious about this. i just want a small turbo, a nice intercooler, and all the proper accessories to make it function to the best of its ability.
please please please help me out.
oh and the other is obviously nitrous ..... no thanks. seen it used wrong and i dont want to be that jackass that doesnt know how to use it and blow up my daily driver. ive got a 99 Ranger that im dumping in a 302 or 351W this winter ... thats where i get my "adrenaline" from. i just want my integra to be quick and be able to surprise some people after they find out its an auto.

If you get a smaller turbo you should be just fine. I would look to get a turbo that comes on factory automatic car (Saab, Audi, Mitsu, ect.), that way you know it wil spool just fine. You could also opt for a T3 turbo or a smaller T3/T4. The good point is that once you spool the turbo it will stay spooled when the car shifts and almost always stay in boost.

Default turbo size suggestion

I would try a t25 flange type turbo. They are a good turbo for fast spooling but fall off around 5500-6000 if i'm not mistaken. the t3 is the next bigger size to go for if you want more upper end power.

It really depends on what you are looking for. I think that you are right about the power falling off early, but the boost will come on fast. You said that you weren't looking for huge power so the t25 should work just fine.

wat da *** mang!?!?! We speak english in this country. If you need to talk to him about something else, then pm him, don't reply to a thread about something totally different.

Back on topic: You can find more information in the Forced Induction forum. The guys there are extremely knowledgeable and will be able to help you more than all these 04's. The T25 is probably what you're looking for, but definitely check out stock turbos from 4G63's (Eclipses) and other imports, like Audi's.

You can probably find even more information by just using the search button.
Edit: Do a search for "turbo size" in Forced Induction and Archived content.
