I have a 94 GSR, I can feel the VTEC kick in, but couldn't ever really hear it, didn't think much of it, until I rode in my buddy's RSX Type S, and his engine screams at VTEC. His engine in stock, mine has headers, and catback exhaust, that is it.

Is there something wrong with my VTEC??

Not 100% but i'd say theres nothing wrong with it. I've been in a few different v-tecs and they all sounded different. Have you got a pod filter and big bore exhaust? I noticed when I put these on my car v-tec roared a hell of a lot louder.

 

Exhaust isn't big bore at all, Greddy Catback, real quiet until 4000 RPM, its loud then, and dies back down before 5000

 

The intake roar can be different too. Do you have a stock intake or one that uses the resonator?

as long as vtec is still working, whats it matter how it sounds? if you wanna hear it, get an intake.
