VTEC Owners....
Do you ever notice you're burning oil in VTEC?? I blow a LOT of black smoke (yea, yea, I know fuel) But I'm losing a quart a night when racing, and a quart a week when just driving.
Here's the delio.......
Fuel press: Static @ 52psi
Compresson.
235, 225, 220, 230
GSR powerplant
US ITR pistons
P&P'd head, ITR intake valves, stainless exhaust
CTR cams 0,0
Skunk2 springs & retainers
Mugen copy P72 ECU
VAFC
Skunk2 Manifold
ITR 4-1 header
Random cat 3"
Apex'i N1 exhaust
It only blows smoke when I'm full throttle......
I'm thinking the 02 sensor is toast, but I get no MIL codes.
Any ideas???

Re: VTEC Owners.... (B18C-EJ1)
When my engine was a Built B18C1 (SRP 11:1 pistons, Eagle rods, same head as I mentioned before) I had that problem a lot too, it would just drink the oil. You might want to do a leak-down test too.

My car does the same thing, in fact my bumper is black because of carbon spitting out of it. I also notice that black smoke comes out when vtec hits. My set up is very similar to yours except I dont have Us Itr pistons in (yet) someone told me that taking it to a dyno and tuning it may help?

Yep, I've gotta 94 gsr and at WOT the person behind me can see some black smoke coming out....fuel of course....I have to add about .5 qts every 1000 miles or so......did a leak down and compression and everything is fine........can't figure out what the heck is up with it........

black smoke == too much gas
blue smoke == burning oil
white smoke == burning coolant
unless things have changed that is it.

Re: VTEC Owners.... (samagon)
Did any of you ever replace your PCV valve?
It did the trick for me. If its backed up you will burn oil. Pressure built up and such.

PCV, hmm. No I didn't. Is that the one that looks like it's wearing a hat? Or the one that goes to the canister?

Hmmm,
Isn't your fuel pressure kind of high? If you are running rich, this extra fuel can get passed the rings and dilute the oil or something and cause you to consume/burn some. That's what a mechanic told me anyway.
Thoughts?

I have the same problem with my built b18c. I did change my pcv valve and did a compression check. I see some oil around the oil pan gasket but I cannot find the source of the oil leak...
