i have a lsvtec with a b16 head... i have searched and have tryed everything that has been suggested. problem is i do have proper oil pressure at the back of the head provided from my -4 feed line. But with the gauge at the front of the head. there is none. vtec solinoid works with 12v. anybody can think of anything else that i haven't tryed... kinda stumped. i also found a thread on here about a pin that is located in the center of the head that locks the rockers in, but that is there so thats not the problem.

 

clean out the vtec solenoid, contaminents get into the oil then plug them up from time to time

 

i did that already and its all clean... i was told by a friend that maybe the feed line is too small... so i'm changing it to a -6 and going to see if that helps. i'll let u guys know. thanks

 

well are u still using your stock ecu cause that could be your problem if u still are... it doesnt have mapping for the v-tech

Does the engine let you rev all the way or does it stop like around 6k rpms... if it revs all the way than vtec is kickin in but you just cant hear it.
Vtec will not also kick in if you speedo is bad, engine is cold, not enough oil, or dont have the right ECU.
