Default vtec issues

so i have a 96 turbo teg i started having vtec problems with it a few months ago it went completely out so i bought a new distributor cause i was having problems with that didnt help vtec at all so i went out and bought a brand new p28 now the vtec kicks in at 6000 and cuts back out at 6800 anyone know what the deal is, i already cleaned the filter on it and checked the oil level any info would be helpful thanks dave

have you checked the pins in the computer plugs if that makes any since and check the metal piece inside the vtec plug on the sylinoid

no the motor is stock gsr with forged intenals, i have probed every wire perfect continuity even ran new wires and still nothing

Any check engine lights?

Also if you have a turbo, I'm assuming you have an oil pressure gauge, whats the pressure at?

yeah the check engine light came on for code 21, yes i do have one and at idle i have 75 and at about 4000 rpms im at 100 so its enough for vtec to work im wondering if it is inside the head thats messed up

chrome software and i was tuned by the guy that tuned the fastest street s2000 so i know he isnt a bunk tuner

so youre car is tuned and you go out and buy a new UNTUNED p28 to fix your vtec problem in your TURBO teg ? not very smart. you need to go do some reading about vtec then you can start troubleshooting again. try SEARCHing here or on
team-integra.net<---better info than HT in my opinion.

i was running a chipped p05 converted to a p28 so the only thing i had to do was remove the chip from the one and put it in the other not very hard to think about and its not very dumb to do, its perfectly safe, similar ecu just one is converted

i know the codes dont lie but i have switched with 4 different ones and 2 that i actually know that work and 2 i got from the junk yard, when i hooked up constant power to them they work fine but car doesnt run good like that cause of the tuning reason
