I'm new to the world of integra's i just bought an 01 ls i want to convert it to vtec should I use a b16 head? and does anyone know anything about those vtec conversion kits
The kit includes:
1. Golden Eagle Vtec Conversion Sandwich Plate with a -6AN fitting for the plate and head.
2. -6AN steel braided teflon hose for oil supply
3. Golden Eagle Vtec Conversion Dowels for proper alignment of the head and block without machining
4. 1/8 NPT tap and plug for the oil port in the head
5. Golden Eagle worked factory head gasket with any bore size and dowel holes opened for any application
Good no good? anything please help.

A GSR head and a B16 head flow pretty much the same as one another, in fact the GSR head has straighter intake ports and offers higher compression than the B16 head. It's all a matter of building the motor correctly. Ideally, you would have the rotating assembly balanced and use higher compression pistons. Also a crankshaft girdle isn't a bad idea. The Golden Eagle kit makes it a relatively painless process to put the head on correctly assuming you have some experience in the area. But the general rule of thumb surrounding the head choice is a GSR head for anything 81mm, a B16/Type R head for anything bigger.
