Default VTEC controller

Does anybody know anything about VTEC controllers for GSR's. Do they do anything, add horsepower? Do you have to tune the car after you install it? I was just curious about them because I haven't ever really heard of anybody buying them or using them. If you know anything, please inform me!

Helped me. I gained 55 hp to the wheels(w/apexi). That is because I got turbo and had to mess with the fuel curve. It depends on what your running. It is easy to tune with the controller.

LOL...HP was from the turbo not form the vtec controller.

Only get the vtec controller if you have some agressive cams. then you can change vtec engaugement plus a/f ratioto get more HP.

DONT GET ONE (APEX VAFC) unless you have cams. I bought when I thought I was getting cams... never got them (cams) and now it's been a waste of $325. At least it looks cool...

LOL... wish I could say the same. I just got a job like last week and I've gotta save my damn money to pay bills, buy books for next semester, buy christmas gifts... to much **** to spend money on other than my car

OT... College books are a ******* racket... I spent $350 on books at the beginning of this semester... went and sold them today at the bookstore and got 35 ******* dollars. They wouldn't even take 2 of my books for some unknown reason. What kinda **** is that?!?!

I got mine with my ITR I/H/E and noticed a little difference, I dropped Vtec to enguage at 4800rpm and got a pretty good amount of midrange but lost some highs so I'm going back up to 5800, but for fuel correction its pretty good. Helps me out tuning with a turbo.

With cam gears, good AF tuning can still yeild a few hp and smooth out the power curve.

Two reasons I don't wanna sell it:
1) I WILL (hopefully ) get cams, even if they're just CTR/ITR...
and
2) It would be the biggest pain in my *** to pull the ecu, take out the VAFC wires and resplice the stock ecu wires.
They've gotten pretty cheap now anyways if you really want one. I've seen them for as low as $299 shipped.
