Default Vibration while accelerating

For the past couple of months everytime I accelerate hard I get a bad vibration through out the car. If I stay at a constant speed then everything is ok. I have thought of everything I can and nothing has helped so I am wondering of anyone had any ideas that might solve this problem.

well my friend what you need to do to better help us figure this out is give us way more info than what u did.

example:

what does the viberation feel like
is the steering wheel viberate or the whole car
what speed's are you going when viberating occurs
what have you done to try to pin-point out the problem..

since you give me/us minimal info, ima guess your tire's are out of balance and might wanna get those checked.
or your tires might have un-even tread ware due to camber wear, tie-rod ends, etc.
rim could be bent causing viberation..
or the road is just phuked up..

either way, theres many reasons to cause viberation.. u just gota let us know more bout whats going on..

well dont mean to sound like a dick but if you would have read the post you could have checked off some of the advice you gave me. If it was a bent rim it would not only viberate under acell. but at a constant speed same with tire wear. as for what does it feel like, feels like a viberation, shaking of the whole car. It does it when I acell from any speed but when you stay at a constant speed or throttle precentage then it stops, I did not think of tie rods ends. Would a broken motor mount cause this? any other advice!

axles.. maybe a cracked cv joint. happened to me after driving hard at the track one night. if it only happens around 60-65mph it would be a wheel weight possibly.. good luck

just get under the car and check. theres 2 boots, one closest to the wheel, and one to the tranny. just feel around. also a good way to know is if you have a **** load of bearing grease underneath.

i had a ripped boot in the knuckle end and i had grease all in my rim. its a pain in the *** to get off. you can either use degreaser if you have that problem, or some dish soap and water.

and if you jack ur car up.. just stand in front of the tire so u can see the tread, and grab both sides and wobble left to right. if you have play.. ur tie rod ends are going out.

i have that problem, i just need to get it fixed. it caused my tires to have un even ware.

/ /./ / /./ /./

^^^ thats a pic of the tire tread.. the (.)s have more wear on them then the others. and its weird cuz it does it on like every other tread to every other 2/3 treads, only on the end tho

Is there any way to check if you have a cracked cv joint?

yeah man, if you drive around long enough like that then youll cv joint will crack. there will be grease all over under there too. i got a new axle for about $100 with a $60 core and got it installed for $45. So it basically cost $85 to replace.

I first thought it might be an axle, I figured if it was an axle it would do it at any speed and wither or not I was accelerating. Any ideas why it would only do it under acceleration?

im not completely understanding what kind of vibration your talking about.
You cannot feel "the whole car" vibrate.

If you do, it's time to get a new car....

If you feel a vibration at the steering wheel.. then yes theres a remedy.
If you feel a vibration/pulsation at the brake pedal. yes there's a remedy..

is it a humming noise? thumping noise? loud tire noise? clunking noise?

A number of things will cause a vibration.

axels, tie-rods, wheel bearings, choppy tires, bent wheels, out of balance wheels, rotors(under braking), bent arms, bad ball joints, loose axel nut, bent knuckle, stabilizer bar endlinks, etc.. etc..

If the "whole car" is vibrating.. i can't help you.
You mightaswell just come to my work and pay my dealership $90 an hour for me to diagnose it personally.

Yes it viberates the whole car, it would almost feel like a choppy tire viberation but only does it under acceleration and stops when crusing at a constant speed. A bent wheel, choppy tires, loose axle, wheel bearings, would cause a viberation under any driving conditions, working at dealership I hope you would know this. I work on my own cars I would never pay a dealership $90 an hour. The symtoms do not relate to anything that I can think of and I know its not the things I said above, So I was asking if anyone ever had the same problem.

I was thinking this also, which motor mount seem to break the most?

I understand what ur saying. I have the same problem with my car. its 2000 gsr. Just started happening one day. If im a dead stop and accelerate hard the whole car starts viberating (shaking like all the wheels are going to fall off). If i start to feel that viberation and let off the gas and then accelate slowly it will stop vibrating. I got new tires, alignment and balanced so I know that's not it. Lemme know if u find a remedy

But the viberation does not happen all the time. And when I go to the track and run it does not viberate even though I am launching harder then when i accelerate every day

had same exact problem. busted driverside axle. boots looked like new, joint was broken. Just change your axle, they aren't even expensive or hard to change.

It could possibly be your wheel bearings. Mine used to vibrate similar to the situation you have described and when i replaced the wheel bearings i didn't get any vibrations while accelatering at high speed or traveling at low speeds.
