Very bad idle problem
I just put Crower Stage 2's with crower valve springs and retainers and now it sounds like i have a hotrod but the only thing is it will not keep idle. it dies out. i know that im not getting vaccum pressure from somewhere i think. i messed with the timing but i dont know if that is it. i hope. if anyone can help me i would GREATLY apprecate it. Note: i did look at all my connections, grounds, timing, even tightend the head down more and its sputters bad. i tried a different ECU and changed plugs an wires man i mean everthing. does all crowers do this or what. i had the machine shop install that springs and retainers also.
did you remember to work in the new cams first?? You can't let them idle when you install them, you need to keep them at 2500 RPM for a bit to lubricate them. Hope they're alright
I have no idea at all, but from looking at the last two responses I would say start the car, and make sure you give it some gas so that you force it to warm up rather than let the car idle warm.

Yes, you are losing compression somewhere. Since it happened when you put the cams in(from what I understand), Im going to say that you need to adjust the valves. If they arent adjusted properly its possible that they arent closing all the way, causing you to lose compression and idle like ***.
Oh btw, are you 100% positive that you did the compression check properly? Generally when people get constant low readings across all 4 cylinders that means they didnt do something right. Like having the car at WOT or something.
my crower's on my turbo'd ls idled funny too and would almost stall the motor. yes it does sound like a hotrod motor...i loved it, and i loved the extra few horses it gave me. if you want the hot rodding noise to go away, you'll have to adjust and turn the idle up.

Your LS cams were probably a bit different than his gs-r cams, but thanks.
Sounds like your cam timing is off. But also as everyone said make sure your valve lash is set before you go for break in.

Kool thanks much i want to do it myself.it sounds easy. Question? what tools would i need to adjust, or to look at them.? Yes i belive i did it right i took of the distribitor wires unscrewed the plugs starting at clyinder 1 installed the compressior, cut it over a couple times and got a reading. did it twice because it was so low.
