Does anyone have a slight tapping noise seems to be coming from directly under the valve cover?

 

It's common, but how bad is it? Might need your valves adjusted.

 

Its not really bad, noticeable throughout rpm range. It is at its worts upon first startup of the day. I just had to put a set of rod bearings in from leaking head gasket. Problem started shortly after head was done and since i have adjusted the valves.

 

what was done to the head?

and what clearance did you use for the lash adjustment?

 

I had the head completely gone through checked for cracks etc. Like i said it started off as a rod knocking i replaced the bearings and it got quieter but when u first start it its loud until the OP light goes off then it quiets down but still noticeable. I cant remember the setting i used but i can find it in my book.
